Job Location: We are hiring Certified Appraisers in the following areas: Detroit and surrounding suburbs Ann Arbor and nearby communities Lansing and the greater mid-Michigan region Traverse City and the Northern Michigan area About Us Banks Valuation is a growing appraisal firm, founded and led by experienced appraisers who understand the industry firsthand. As we expand into new markets and strengthen our presence in existing ones, we're looking for appraisers committed to high-quality valuations and long-term growth. We've built trusted relationships with a wide range of clients, which gives our appraisers a consistent flow of assignments. We also invest in marketing, proprietary technology and operational support to create more opportunities and streamline your workflow. About the Position Every appraiser starts as a 1099 independent contractor with competitive per-report pay for their first 90 days. That period lets both sides confirm the fit: volume, quality, reliability and alignment with how we work. After 90 days, our goal is to move strong performers onto our salaried W-2 staff team, especially in high-volume markets. Staff appraisers receive performance-based bonuses and health benefits. The appraisers who earn these roles are the ones who show consistent quality and turn times. Certified Residential Appraiser License (Required) A growth-oriented mindset—eager to learn, adapt, and evolve with the company Ability to work independently while remaining open to feedback and process improvements Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Proficiency with appraisal software and market research tools A professional and communicative approach, ensuring alignment with company expectations and long-term goals Responsibilities Completing credible and well-supported valuations for residential properties Managing assignments efficiently while maintaining quality and compliance Utilizing available tools and resources to streamline workflow Maintaining clear and professional communication with clients when needed Staying up to date with industry regulations and best practices At Banks Valuation, we’re committed to supporting appraisers with the tools, technology, and opportunities needed to succeed.
