Ambulatory Medical Director / Associate Program Director – Internal MedicineMorehouse School of Medicine | Atlanta, GA

Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) is seeking an Internal Medicine physician leader to serve as Ambulatory Medical Director for General Internal Medicine , with an additional appointment as Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at a local Atlanta hospital.

This is an exciting academic leadership opportunity combining clinical care, ambulatory practice leadership, graduate medical education, quality improvement, and health equity .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the General Internal Medicine ambulatory practice and improve access, continuity, quality, workflow, and patient experience.
• Oversee the resident continuity clinic and ambulatory educational experience.
• Mentor and support residents in evaluation, career development, and professional growth.
• Participate in residency recruitment, Clinical Competency Committee, Annual Program Evaluation, accreditation, and program improvement.
• Develop ambulatory curriculum and support faculty development.
• Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Support resident and faculty scholarship.
• Advance health equity and care for medically complex and underserved populations.
• Collaborate with Morehouse School of Medicine, hospital leadership, and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

Required:

• MD or DO degree.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency.
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
• Eligible for Georgia medical licensure and MSM faculty appointment.
• Ambulatory Internal Medicine experience.
• Experience teaching and supervising residents and/or medical students.
• Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills.

Preferred:

• Ambulatory or physician leadership experience.
• GME or residency program leadership experience.
• Quality improvement, patient safety, or practice transformation experience.
• Academic or safety-net clinical experience.
