Hypersonic Weapons Production Chief Engineer

About the Role This position is for a Chief Engineering Senior Manager for the Air‑launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW) Low‑Rate Initial Production contract. The successful candidate will report to the ARRW portfolio chief engineer programmatically and work closely with the ARRW chief engineering staff and the broader ADSW Line of Business to ensure synergy across tasks and to communicate lessons learned. Key Responsibilities Provide technical leadership that enables the team to meet all ARRW production milestones on schedule. Develop and nurture a productive partnership with the USG customer, LM Aero, LM Space, and the global supply base. Guide IPT leads and cross‑functional teams in program planning, scheduling, execution of production start‑up activities, and critical life cycle reviews. Ensure program staffing is appropriate from an E&T perspective. Collaborate with Engineering Excellence management to ensure program milestones are successfully completed. Support and lead program technical reviews and participate in monthly E&T meetings, staff meetings, and other critical program activities. Communicate lessons learned and ensure synergy across tasks with the entire Chief Engineer staff. Lead or support customer briefings, weekly IPT status updates, Technical Interchange Meetings, Technical Readiness Reviews, Physical Configuration Audits, Production Readiness Reviews, and other critical program reviews. Participate in Failure Review Boards, Risk Management, and Mission Success Reviews. Support technical reviews internally, with the customer, and external stakeholders, and at supplier locations. Requirements Technical expertise in hypersonic boost‑glide weapon systems. Demonstrated experience in planning and leading technical solutions from proposal through development into production. Excellent leadership skills and proven ability to lead technical efforts with cross‑functional teams. Experience and initiative to provide technical leadership and support for development and production processes. Strong understanding of Full Spectrum Leadership principles (technical, people, business, strategic). Excellent oral and written communication skills. Basic Qualifications Minimum of a degree in engineering or engineering management from an accredited college or university, with existing professional experience. Experience and demonstrated skill set with hypersonic boost‑glide weapon systems. Ability to communicate technical status and issues internally to program leadership, technical leadership, and functional leadership, as well as externally to the USG customer. Must be available for domestic travel. Secret clearance with investigation or CV date within 5 years. Desired Skills An advanced degree in engineering or engineering management from an accredited college or university. Prior experience at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control. Prior experience working on the ARRW program. Working knowledge of dealing with subcontractors and subcontract technical management. Wide experience/familiarity in collaborating with the Engineering & Technology functional organization. Ability to interface with the USG Customer office and global supply base. Ability to support technical reviews internally, with the customer, and external stakeholders, and at supplier locations. Experience in leading Failure Analysis and Failure Review Boards.
