Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Oncology unit position requiring chemo certification and a MA RN license, with first-time travelers welcome.

Details

• Hospital-based oncology unit with 12 beds and an average daily census of 32 patients
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses spanning hematology and oncology as well as non-oncology conditions such as asthma/allergy, GI, rheumatology, and MS
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Specialized procedures include port accessing and IV placement
• Medication management system: Omnicell
• Documentation systems: Cerner and IntelliDose
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts, with start times of either 8:00–16:30 or 9:00–17:30
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy Certificate required
• OCN certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Oncology nursing experience required
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred

Additional Information

• Orientation consists of 3–4 shifts with a preceptor
• Scrubs are not provided; any color is acceptable
• All scheduling and time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
