VitalEdge PA is seeking a dedicated and skilled Pain Management Physician Assistant to join our team in Amsterdam, New York. This full-time role requires a passionate healthcare professional ready to provide exemplary patient care in a fast-paced surgical center environment. You will be instrumental in diagnosing and treating various health conditions, with a special focus on pain management, while promoting healthy practices among patients.

Work Environment

This position is onsite at our Surgical Center in Amsterdam, New York, which provides a comprehensive array of surgical and pain management services. Our facility is designed to foster a comfortable environment for both patients and staff, promoting teamwork and open communication. You will work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, concluding at 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate the necessity of treatment options and develop effective treatment plans in close collaboration with physicians.
• Perform physical examinations and order necessary diagnostic tests to determine the appropriate course of action.
• Administer various injections, including trigger point and joint injections, as part of a comprehensive pain management strategy.
• Prescribe medications as needed, coupled with detailed pain management recommendations tailored to individual patient needs.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, making adjustments to treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations.
• Educate patients and their families on pain management techniques, treatment procedures, and the significance of adherence to prescribed plans.
• Maintain accurate patient health records and documentation to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and best practices.
• Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to assess and discuss comprehensive patient care strategies.
• Promote and teach principles of good health practices and disease prevention, enhancing patient understanding and engagement.
• Advance your professional knowledge through continual research and participation in professional discourse.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Pain Management Physician Assistant will primarily work with patients suffering from various types of chronic pain, including musculoskeletal issues, neuropathic pain, and post-surgical pain. Our diverse patient population presents unique challenges that require a deep understanding of individual patient backgrounds, conditions, and evidence-based treatment methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies.
• Valid Physician Assistant license in the state of New York.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) is mandatory.
• Possession of a DEA and NPI number is required.

Preferred Experience

• Proven clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in a clinical setting, such as a clinic, hospital, emergency room, or similar environment.
• Experience in pain management or a related medical specialty is preferred and will be regarded favorably.
• Strong knowledge of health and patient care regulations.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and medical staff.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while fostering a supportive environment for patient care.

Compensation and Benefits

We are proud to offer a competitive salary range of USD 140,000 to 160,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition to this attractive salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health and well-being.
