Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Ortho Trauma / General Surgery)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week | 13–26 week contracts considered

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for a Med Surg Ortho Trauma / General Surgery population, including patients with severe bone, joint, and soft tissue injuries, traumatic brain injuries, spine injuries, subdural hematomas, and neurological trauma
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5–6; candidates must be comfortable working within these ratios
• Float to similar units and alternate care locations, including inpatient holding areas, as needed
• Work every other weekend as part of the standard schedule
• Utilize unit systems including EPIC , Pyxis , and SBAR communication framework
• Be available and prepared to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; contract staff may be expected to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license – NC state license or Compact license (pending licensure considered for submittal)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Ortho, Neuro, or Trauma experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are welcome to apply; a local rate will apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
