Certified Welding Inspector

Big-D Heavy Industrial is looking for a Certified Welding Inspector to join our growing team. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of welds to ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 standards and other relevant codes and specifications. Perform visual and oversee non‑destructive testing (NDT) methods to assess weld quality and integrity. Review and interpret welding procedures, specifications, and blueprints. Document inspection results, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate records. Collaborate with welding personnel to address and resolve quality issues. Monitor welding processes and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. Conduct audits and quality control checks throughout the welding process. Provide training and guidance to welding staff on best practices and quality standards. Assist in the development and implementation of quality control programs and procedures. Stay updated with industry trends, standards, and advancements in welding technology. Qualifications AWS D1.1 Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification. Minimum of 2 years of experience in welding inspection and quality control. Proficiency in visual inspection and knowledge of NDT methods (e.g., ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant). Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and fabrication techniques. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient in using inspection tools and equipment. Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards. Preferred Qualifications Additional experience with structural steel and bolting, reinforced concrete. Experience with other welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API). Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft office.
