Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) nurse opportunity in a Level IV Trauma Center located in West Allis, WI. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care across a diverse patient population, including neonates to geriatric patients, with an average of 100-160 patients daily. The position is scheduled for night shifts, offering an engaging environment dedicated to acute and critical patient management.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 09/28/2026 to 01/02/2027
• Required Qualifications: RN license in good standing, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications; 1 year of ER experience within the past year; 2-5 years of nursing experience preferred
• Preferred Qualifications: TNCC certification is preferred but not required; strong proficiency in IV skills, cardiac rhythm monitoring, medication titration, and trauma protocols
• Patient Care: Pediatric to geriatric patient care, including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and infectious disease cases such as strokes, sepsis, STEMI, and COVID-19
• Patient Ratios: RN: 1:3-4 during nights; ED Tech: 2-4 per shift, with 1 Tech from 0300-0700
• Support on the Unit: 24/7 RT and Hospitalist/PA coverage, clinical operations technician (to be added), resource nurse during peak hours, and other operational staff as needed
• Technology/Equipment: EPIC electronic health record system (used within the last 2 years), Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, monitors (specific models to be confirmed)
• Orientation: One shift of facility and unit orientation; first hours with a nurse leader or supervisor, followed by on-the-job training with a preceptor
• Scheduling: Every other weekend rotation, no on-call requirement, holiday policy of one per year, time off approval via email to the Nurse Manager or ED Supervisor
• Additional Notes: Scrub attire can be any professional color; free parking available in designated parking structures
