Overview Physician (Pediatrics) located at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego, California. Salary range: $124,308 - $315,000 per year. Recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized for new federal service candidates. Salary negotiation may be available for new federal service candidates. Advanced in Hire (AIH) may be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Responsibilities Exercise independent judgment with full responsibility for professional diagnosis, treatment, referral and disposition of patients. Provide comprehensive primary care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents according to current standards of care. Coordinate and/or integrate care across all elements of the healthcare system (e.g., subspecialty care, hospitals, home health agencies, nursing homes). Complete required records (both paper and electronic) pertaining to all medical services provided in accordance with specified procedures and regulations. Provide consultation to other health care providers as assigned. Provide technical oversight of clinical staff. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience includes paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work. Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a U.S. or Canadian school. Must be accredited by AMA, AAMC, LCME, COCA, or a body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Foreign medical degrees must demonstrate equivalency by ECFMG certification, pathway certificate, or U.S. Medical Licensing Examination. Licensure: Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory. Graduate Training: At least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting (e.g., one-year internship or first year of a residency program). Residency Training: Successfully completed the required accredited residency training in Pediatrics and equivalent experience equal to at least four years.
