We are seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support our endocrinology team at our Port St. Lucie location, with occasional coverage at our Vero Beach location based on staffing needs. This role supports patients receiving diabetes care, treatment for thyroid disorders, and general endocrinology services. The Medical Assistant will perform administrative and clinical duties, including patient intake, vital signs, room preparation, phlebotomy, injections, and procedure assistance, while providing compassionate, organized, and communicative patient care. The role reports to the practice manager, lead medical assistant, physician, and nurse practitioner, with opportunities for cross-training and expanded clinical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient intake and escort patients to exam rooms.
• Measure and document vital signs.
• Prepare examination rooms and maintain clinical readiness.
• Perform phlebotomy and injections as assigned.
• Assist with clinical procedures and routine patient care.
• Handle administrative duties and support medical staff.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding billing procedures.
• Provide clinic float coverage between Port St. Lucie and Vero Beach through scheduled rotation, occasional same-day coverage, and staffing-based assignments.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience as a medical assistant or in a related field.
• Familiarity with medical billing procedures.
• Knowledge of eClinicalWorks.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, empathy, kindness, and a team-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of medical assisting experience.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
• Experience with medical assisting, vital signs measurement, and endocrinology workflows.
• Experience supporting diabetes care, thyroid disorders, or general endocrinology.
• Patient communication, organization, and time management skills.
