CNC Operator - 2nd Shift

CNC OperatorOperates CNC-controlled machine tools under the guidance of senior personnel, performing programmed machining operations using established CNC programs and tooling layouts.Independently set up and operate single- and multi-spindle CNC equipment, including multiple machines and various CNC controls, to produce parts according to blueprints, work instructions, specifications, and quality standards.Perform entry-level to complex CNC setups, including tooling, machine complements, work holding, offsets, speeds and feeds, and applicable G- and M-codes. Make approved program edits and adjustments as required.Read and interpret blueprints and perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments. Make necessary offsets and tooling adjustments to maintain dimensional requirements and product quality.Identify and troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues and escalate problems when necessary. Adjust, change, and sharpen tooling as required.Run multiple machines as required and consistently meet established production standards while maintaining high-quality parts and minimizing downtime.Perform scheduled preventative and Autonomous Maintenance, maintain tooling and equipment, and keep the work area clean and orderly in accordance with 5S standards.Participate in continuous improvement and setup-reduction activities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and changeover times.Communicate effectively with Team Leaders, supervisors, and coworkers. Assist with training and cross-training CNC Operator I employees and support production activities as needed.Follow all EHS policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Human Performance practices. Report incidents, hazards, and equipment concern promptly.Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED Equivalent.3+ years of operating conventional and/or CNC machinery (mills and/or lathes) within a manufacturing environment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, work instructions, and specifications in English.Working knowledge of CNC machining, cutting tools, tool offsets, G- and M-codes, CNC control functions, and speeds and feeds.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.Preferred QualificationsAssociates DegreeMachining Certifications (NTMA, College Certifications, etc.)Experience running Takisawa, Okumasx, DMG Mori and other equipmentAbility to perform CNC setups with minimal assistance and begin learning more complex setups and programming.Ability to operate multiple CNC machines efficiently and consistently meet established production standards.Ability to troubleshoot basic machining, tooling, and equipment issues.Proficient in using precision measuring instruments and gauges, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, comparators, and other applicable gauges.Knowledge of SPC, first-piece verification, 5S, preventative maintenance, and applicable quality processes.Ability to obtain and perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) authorization and follow all EHS and PPE requirements.Ability to lift to 30 pounds regularly.Physical DemandsMust be able to lift/move 30 lbs.
