RN Nurse Home Infusion PRN

PruittHealth Home Infusion Nurse

Responsible for the clinical nursing care of the home infusion patients and management of nursing staff supporting PruittHealth Infusion pharmacy.

Key responsibilities include:

• Making home visits to evaluate appropriateness for home infusion services.
• Ability to teach and train patients/caregivers to participate in home infusion treatments in their homes.
• Providing nursing interventions to home infusion patients within the accepted standards of practice based on national INS standards.
• Assuming full responsibility for professional management of assigned patients to nursing staff.
• Maintaining clinical records to meet federal, state and agency regulations and standards.
• Developing the Plan of Treatment and assisting to maintain the interdisciplinary care plan.
• Assuming and assigning on call duties.
• Supervising care provided by home infusion Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses.
• Having nursing meetings regularly.
• Having training as needed for staff.
• Coordinating services with other agencies as needed.
• Providing infusion in-services as needed for non-pharmacy clients/partners.
• Assisting with marketing visits as clinical support as needed.
• Maintaining car stock for unexpected home infusion visit needs.
• Maintaining timesheets and expense reports in a timely manner.
• Reviewing all nurse's notes and preparing for billing.
• Assisting with pharmacy operations as directed by Executive Director.

Knowledge, skills, abilities:

• Maintain all infusion skills to be prepared for all aspects of home infusion treatments required.
• Participate in continuing educational programs to keep abreast of changes in your field as well as to maintain current License/certification as required.
• Attend and participate in mandatory in-services.
• Be able to use all nursing education/skills to assist home enteral patients on pharmacy service.
• Knowledge and experience in managing staff.
• Skills in conflict resolution.
• Ability to be available to all staff as needed.

Minimum education required:

Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited college or university or graduate of an accredited/approved RN program.

Minimum experience required:

5-10 years of nursing experience with a concentration on infusion and management.

Minimum licensure/certification required by law:

Current, active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice. Current CPR certification.
