Controller

This leadership role will oversee a team of accounting professionals and be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, driving process improvements, and supporting executive leadership in financial decision-making. The Controller will serve as a strategic business partner while managing the day-to-day accounting activities of the organization. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, including setting goals, providing coaching, and conducting performance reviews. Oversee all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting transactions. Manage the general ledger and maintain the integrity of financial records. Establish, monitor, and improve internal controls and accounting policies. Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, and cash management functions. Provide financial analysis and reporting to executive leadership. Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives. Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Partner with department leaders to provide financial guidance and support operational objectives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience managing and developing accounting teams. Proven ability to lead month-end and year-end close processes. Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
