This position supports the Health Insurance Premium Payment (HIPP) Program by determining cost-effectiveness, enrolling eligible applicants, and maintaining accurate case records. The role ensures that individuals receive appropriate coverage while safeguarding program resources. As a HIPP Operations Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Case Evaluation: Review insurance information to determine cost-effectiveness and enroll eligible applicants Program Communication: Respond to inquiries and explain processes for participation, enrollment, and payment Case Maintenance: Complete scheduled reevaluations, update records, and issue notices when coverage changes Policy Review: Analyze employer health plans and negotiate with employers, unions, or insurance carriers to resolve issues Special Program Support: Arrange Medical Assistance for Workers with Disabilities Program payments, process Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention and Treatment referrals, and determine eligibility for related coverage Collaboration Tasks: Work with internal units and agencies to support efficient program operations Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch Free parking is included with this position Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Torrance. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Third Party Liability or Medical Assistance Program Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or Four years of experience in the review and analysis of medical insurance policies and premiums, reviewing and responding to inquiries relating to applicable service or benefits in health care insurance programs, health care services or Medical Assistance program services; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
