Inventory Control AssociateLegal Address - Benefits Access & Admin - Brooklyn, NY 11233OverviewSalary Range $26.00 - $26.00 HourlyDescriptionJob SummaryThe Inventory Control Associate will provide TCAH's Purchasing Manager with accurate and timely inventory information to support informed, strategic purchasing decisions. This position will monitor inventory levels, receive and organize supplies, and ensure materials are properly distributed to support program and operational needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to TCAH's hunger relief and food justice mission and will play an important role in ensuring that programs have the supplies and resources needed for effective service delivery.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with management and warehouse teams to maintain accurate inventory across multiple locations.Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and report discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods.Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, including quantities, item locations, and transaction histories.Use inventory management software to track and adjust stock levels in real time.Ensure inventory is properly labeled and stored in designated warehouse locations for efficient retrieval and distribution.Conduct routine physical inventory counts and reconcile variances between physical inventory and system records.Prepare and submit weekly market lists to the Purchasing Department based on inventory levels and program needs.Generate monthly inventory variance and status reports, including spoilage, overages, shortages, and other discrepancies.Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low-stock or critical items.Distribute inventory and supplies to TCAH programs and authorized stakeholders as needed.Conduct regular quality-control checks and identify expired, damaged, or compromised goods for appropriate removal or disposal in accordance with TCAH standards.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment and follow all applicable safety protocols.Process returned, damaged, or rejected goods in accordance with established procedures.Identify opportunities and recommend process improvements that increase inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.Collaborate with Purchasing and warehouse personnel to improve inventory availability and reduce waste.Travel between TCAH locations as needed and work extended hours during high-volume periods or emergencies.Support department leadership by executing additional tasks and operational duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's degree preferred; relevant certifications or training are a plus.3–5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, purchasing support, or a related field preferred.Experience with inventory management, warehouse management, or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems preferred.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong data-entry and record-keeping skills.Basic math and reconciliation skills.Ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.Ability to communicate effectively with warehouse, Purchasing, management, and program teams.Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.Willingness to work occasional evenings, extended hours, or weekends during high-volume periods or emergencies.Ability and willingness to travel between TCAH locations as needed.Commitment to TCAH's mission of hunger relief and food justice
