Surgical Tech First Assistant- Vascular OR

Under the supervision of the surgeon, the Surgical Tech First Assist (ST‑FA) provides additional assistance to the surgeon in the Operating Room beyond that normally provided. According to the American College of Surgeons (ACS), surgical assistants aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other interoperative technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safer operation with optimal results for the patient. The ST‑FA may also perform in the role of the Surgical Technologist as needed, coordinate care with other team members, maintain patient rights and confidentiality, and perform duties in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and guiding principles. Position Details Education: High‑School Diploma or GED required. Licensure / Certification: Non‑Certified Route: Will train the right candidate. 1‑2 years scrub experience required. NCCT Route: Successful completion of the Tech in Surgery – Certified (NCCT) exam with certification for LPN and military candidates. 1‑2 years scrub experience required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Preferred Experience: 2+ years of full‑time scrub experience with complex and routine cases preferred. Preferred Licensure / Certification: Graduate with a degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited surgical technology program preferred. Other: Must understand English both written and spoken, must be able to safely and successfully perform job‑related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.
