Respiratory Therapist

This is a 10-week contract position from October 23 to December 3.

Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts per week.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed. This role involves evaluating patients and recommending appropriate treatment plans while operating various respiratory equipment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using a variety of ventilatory and oxygen devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning to promote secretion clearance.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography following established policies.
• Evaluate patients' chest X-rays and conduct pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with respiratory care procedures and perform tracheostomy care.
• Engage in arterial punctures and monitor ventilation efficiency.
• Conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation as per BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Document all relevant treatment details and communicate with healthcare professionals regarding therapy efficiency.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Valid Respiratory Therapy license.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
