Senior Staff ML/NLP Engineer, Assistant

About the Role We are building an Assistant NLP team focused on driving i18n NLP model improvements and quality. As a senior founding member of this team, you have the chance to shape the future of Assistant NLP in i18n languages. In collaboration with the broader Assistant engineering team, you will be responsible for executing technical strategy & roadmaps, building NLP models and ML/DL engineering systems to deliver function improvements and technological advancements. Responsibilities The areas of work will largely fall into three areas: Model improvement at scale: formulate, tune, and improve natural language understanding (NLU) models for parsing and retrieval for i18n locales, leveraging and optimizing state-of-the-art language models and deploying them at production scale Data & Tooling: address a broad spectrum of data needs and the tooling associated with them to support data-driven quality improvement, annotations, operational scaling, and simplification such as data generation/extraction, automated PII redactions, and headroom analysis and triaging tools. Vertical-specific NLP quality improvements: identify and execute opportunities and vertical-specific quality improvements in understanding and meeting user needs. You will collaborate closely with the broader Assistant NLP and other parts of the Assistant org.
