Medical Technologist (MT) Evening Shift

Cottage Hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Technologist (MT) to join our laboratory team on a Monday–Thursday night shift (2p-12:30 am, 75 hours biweekly). This role is essential to delivering accurate, timely lab results that directly support patient care and clinical decision-making.

Position Summary The Medical Technologist performs moderate- to high-complexity testing across multiple laboratory disciplines, including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology/immunology, urinalysis, and phlebotomy. This role requires strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and analyze laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other body fluids
• Ensure accuracy of results and troubleshoot discrepancies as needed
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation
• Follow all quality control and regulatory standards
• Properly collect, label, and handle specimens
• Communicate critical results to providers and nursing staff
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant lab environment
• Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

Education Bachelors or better.

Experience Certification as MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) or similar national certification. Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.

1-2 years of experience preferred. Phlebotomy experience or certification is a plus.
