Sunrise Care Consulting, LLC is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our growing team in Yonkers, New York. This full-time remote position is crucial for providing specialized mental health support to patients recovering from traumatic injuries, helping them navigate their emotional and psychological challenges.

Work Environment

This position is designed to provide flexibility, as it will be performed remotely within an outpatient office setting. Our counselors work collaboratively with one another and attend regular virtual meetings to discuss patient progress and share insights, creating a culture of continuous learning and support. The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting initial evaluations of patients to identify mental and emotional concerns and establishing individual treatment plans that reflect their unique needs.
  • Meeting with patients to actively listen to their issues and offer insights and strategies to cope with their challenges.
  • Designing and implementing evidence-based treatment protocols aimed at fostering recovery from trauma and enhancing mental wellness.
  • Monitoring and documenting patient progress, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary to ensure the highest standard of care.
  • Educating patients about various coping mechanisms and resources to assist them in personal goal achievement.
  • Collaborating with healthcare providers, social service agencies, and community resources to ensure patients receive comprehensive support.
  • Providing training and support to team members on trauma-informed care approaches to improve overall clinic effectiveness.
  • Participating in ongoing professional development and maintaining National Certified Counselor certification through continuing education courses to stay informed on the latest advancements in mental health treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is to work with clients dealing with trauma-related issues stemming from various incidents, such as accidents, assaults, or significant life changes. Understanding the psychological impact of trauma is vital for this role, as it influences both how treatment is approached and the resources provided to patients for their recovery journey.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field.
  • Valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working with patients who have experienced trauma.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to effectively engage with patients and collaborate with colleagues.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, particularly Salesforce.
  • A background in crisis intervention strategies and therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with community resources and services available to trauma patients.

Compensation and Benefits
