Job Title: Quality of Care Investigative Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 22 Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Arizona Certifications: None specified Must-Have: Critical thinking skills, technological skills, strong oral and written communication skills Description: This position reports to the Quality Management Unit and conducts quality-of-care investigations. It participates in investigations of member-centric and systemic quality-of-care concerns to ensure member health and well-being. The role involves conducting timely, thorough, member-centric, and systemic investigations of quality-of-care issues. It includes implementing corrective action plans utilizing a standardized process. The position requires making appropriate referrals to oversight and regulatory agencies. Responsibilities include participating in care concerns and maintaining necessary documentation to support case work. The nurse will request appropriate documentation for quality-of-care investigations. This position ensures the maintenance of comprehensive case records to support allegation review and substantiation levels. As a result of the quality-of-care investigations, issue remediation or a corrective action plan will be generated. The nurse will ensure all applicable investigative information and documents are uploaded within the quality management system portal. It is also important to appropriately elevate cases and/or trend concerns to the supervisor. Candidates should possess skills in medical chart review, research, analysis, and decision-making. Personal planning, organization, and time management skills are crucial for this role. The nursing process, including assessment, monitoring, and evaluation, is also a key component of the job.
