Psychiatric Registered Nurse

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our acute care mental health team in Corvallis, Oregon. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to late adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients experiencing acute mental or emotional disturbances.

The successful candidate will utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, age-appropriate, direct and indirect patient care, focusing on comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment, evaluation, and intervention. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, and licensed clinical social workers to support patient recovery and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate, direct and indirect patient care.
• Practice within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
• Assess, evaluate, and intervene in the bio-psychosocial aspects of patients in an acute phase of mental or emotional disturbance.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and clinical assessments.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary mental health team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Provide therapeutic communication and support to patients and their significant others.

Required Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Healthcare Provider Level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in an acute care setting.
