Senior Center Director (Executive-Level Opportunity )

North Beach Senior Center – Miami Beach, FL

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and mission-driven leader to serve as Senior Center Director for the North Beach Senior Center—one of Miami Beach’s key community assets serving older adults.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a professional who thrives at the intersection of community engagement, public partnerships, and program innovation. The Director will shape the vision, growth, and long-term sustainability of the Center while ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

The Opportunity

This role goes beyond day-to-day management. The Center Director will:

• Drive strategic program development and expansion

• Serve as a visible leader in the community

• Build and strengthen public-sector and nonprofit partnerships

• Influence how services for older adults are delivered in Miami Beach

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Growth

• Provide overall vision, leadership, and direction for the Center’s programs and services

• Identify opportunities to expand offerings, partnerships, and community impact

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and participant outcomes

Operations & Team Leadership

• Oversee all aspects of Center operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and a high standard of service

• Build, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration

• Ensure effective resource management, including vendor oversight and operational planning

• Reports exclusively to the Board of Directors

Government & Stakeholder Relations

• Serve as the primary liaison with local and state agencies, including funding partners

• Represent the Center and Agency on City of Miami Beach Senior Services Committee

• Represent the Center in public forums, committees, and community initiatives

• Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders to support program sustainability and growth

Compliance, Funding & Performance

• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and funding requirements

• Oversee grant administration, reporting, and audit readiness

• Use data and performance metrics to inform decision-making and demonstrate program impact

Financial Oversight

• Lead budget planning and fiscal management

• Ensure responsible stewardship of public and grant-funded resources

• Support funding strategies and identify opportunities for program enhancement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (Public Administration, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, or related field)

• 3-5+ years of management leadership experience, ideally in nonprofit, public sector, or community-based programs

• Demonstrated experience in grant management, compliance, and government-funded programs

• Proven ability to lead teams, manage operations, and drive program growth

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred

Additional Requirements

• Ability to obtain required program certifications upon hire

• Successful completion of a Level 2 background check

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $90,000+, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates

Since 2015, UNIDAD has managed the North Beach Senior Center, a city-owned building located at 7251 Collins Avenue, pursuant to an 80 year Management Agreement. The North Beach Senior Center, is a hub that provides senior residents with a plethora of engaging social activities. UNIDAD complements the meals program it offers at the Center by providing a variety of enrichment programming funded through various sources, and in collaboration with the City’s Parks and Recreation Department. The North Beach Senior Center is supported by federal, state and local grants and matching funds generated by donations and Center rentals.
