7th–11th Grade Science Teacher

South Bay Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. This position is responsible for teaching science to students in grades 7–11, fostering scientific inquiry, critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on learning while helping students grow academically, socially, and spiritually in a Christ-centered environment.

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about science, enjoys building relationships with students, and is committed to making scientific concepts engaging and understandable. This teacher should be comfortable teaching multiple science courses and integrating a biblical worldview into classroom discussions and instruction.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging science instruction for students in grades 7–11.
• Teach courses that may include General Science, Physical Science, Biology, and Chemistry.
• Create hands-on learning experiences through labs, demonstrations, projects, and experiments.
• Establish and enforce appropriate laboratory safety procedures.
• Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth and achievement.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Assess student learning and provide timely feedback.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support school-wide goals and initiatives.
• Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview throughout instruction.
• Maintain classroom-management procedures that encourage respect, responsibility, and student success.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Education, Science, or a related field preferred.
• Previous teaching or educational experience preferred.
• Knowledge of middle and high school science content and laboratory safety.
• Strong classroom-management skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Experience working with middle and high school students preferred.
• Commitment to Christian education and the mission of South Bay Academy.
