Job Title: Sheet Metal Fabricator Job Description

This role focuses on fabricating, assembling, fitting, and installing structural and light-gauge steel components used in prefabricated modular systems within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in carpentry, steel fabrication, metal framing, or structural steel, and consistently produces precise, high-quality work by accurately reading drawings and taking detailed measurements.

• Fabricate, assemble, fit, and install structural and light-gauge steel components for prefabricated modular systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication plans to determine material requirements, dimensions, and fabrication methods.
• Measure, mark, and lay out sheet metal and steel materials accurately to ensure precise cuts and fits.
• Perform sheet metal cutting, forming, and shaping operations using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Carry out duct work and sheet metal fabrication tasks in line with project specifications and quality standards.
• Use metal carpentry and metal framing techniques to build and assemble steel and metal structures.
• Inspect completed components and assemblies to verify accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow manufacturing safety procedures and guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members in the manufacturing environment to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
• Identify and report material, equipment, or design issues and contribute to continuous improvement in fabrication processes.

• Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication, including cutting, forming, and assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication plans accurately.
• Strong background in carpentry, steel fabrication, structural steel, metal framing, or a related skilled trade.
• Proficiency in duct work and sheet metal installation techniques.
• Solid metal carpentry skills for working with prefabricated modular systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on fabrication skills.
• Ability to take accurate measurements and translate them into precise fabrication work.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment with production timelines.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, precise work.

• 3+ years of experience in carpentry, steel fabrication, structural steel, metal framing, or a related skilled trade is preferred.
• Equivalent experience demonstrating strong fabrication and mechanical skills may be considered.
• Experience as a steel fabricator or in similar metal fabrication roles.
• Comfort working with a variety of metal fabrication tools and equipment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a production team in a manufacturing setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oxford, AL.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Oxford,AL.
