• Conduct thorough patient interviews and accurately enter information into computer systems.
• Obtain necessary signatures, insurance details, and financial data to support reimbursement processes.
• Perform special duties as assigned to support departmental needs.
• Assume cashiering duties during after-hours and weekends.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits promptly, securing pre-authorizations as required by third-party payers.
• Ensure medical necessity verification aligns with CMS standards and communicate coverage information to patients.
• Notify patients of any required deposits or deductibles prior to registration.
• Provide cost estimates for procedures upon patient request.
• Assist patients through registration procedures, ensuring their questions and concerns are addressed and they are directed to appropriate service areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in computer data entry.
• At least one year of customer service experience working with patients or customers.
• Preferred experience in healthcare insurance verification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous.

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.
