REIT Controller

A growing REIT is seeking a Controller to lead accounting, financial reporting, and team management within a dynamic commercial real estate lending platform. This is a highly visible role partnering directly with senior leadership and investment professionals while overseeing loan, debt, and joint venture accounting.

Compensation: Up to 350k Total compensation

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reporting packages
• Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, fund administrators, and other external partners
• Support technical accounting matters, regulatory reporting, and compliance initiatives
• Monitor internal controls and improve accounting processes and procedures
• Partner with business stakeholders on financial analysis, reporting, and operational initiatives
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members
• Assist with cash management, treasury activities, and liquidity reporting
• Support special projects and strategic initiatives as the organization continues to scale

Qualifications

• CPA required
• 10+ years of accounting experience with a mix of public accounting and industry experience
• Prior experience within a REIT is required
• Experience managing or mentoring accounting professionals
• Experience with SEC reporting
