**Education & Experience:** - Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology - Minimum of 2 years experience required **Certification/Licensure:** - ARRT Radiography registration required - IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois - Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days **Skills & Qualifications:** - Performs diagnostic radiographic, portable, c-arm, and fluoroscopic procedures - Reviews patients' clinical history and ensures appropriate order placement and lab review - Provides patient education - Selects and operates imaging equipment and accessories - Positions patients for optimal demonstration of anatomic areas - Initiates basic life support when necessary - Determines radiographic technique and exposure factors - Follows ALARA principles for radiation protection - Reports and documents safety incidents and adverse events - Processes and reviews images for quality control - Proficient in using radiology information systems, including PACS - Assists with medical record/image sharing - Documents procedure information in electronic medical records - Provides practical instruction for radiography students and partners - Applies principles of patient safety during procedures - Operates mobile radiologic equipment in various settings - Assists radiologist in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations - Prepares and assists in administering contrast media - Provides instruction and training to new technologists - Adjusts and coordinates patient and staff schedules - Expert level knowledge of electronic medical records, PACS, and imaging equipment
