The portfolio of companies serve insurance, risk management, and legal communities and operate with independent leadership teams, tailored strategies, and a shared commitment to **client excellence, operational optimization, and a culture of continuous improvement**.**The Opportunity** We are seeking a **mid-level attorney** to provide legal partnership to our four sister companies across **professional liability, litigation management, and risk mitigation**. You will serve as the primary legal advisor to business and operational leaders, managing litigation, leading subpoena management, and response, managing external counsel, and ensuring alignment of process and practice across businesses. As we centralize legal partnership and support—transitioning from a decentralized, external model—this role will be pivotal in driving more consistency across the enterprise while also providing a governance and oversight function.Your expertise will directly impact **business continuity, risk management, and market reputation and relationships**, while your collaborative, solutions-oriented approach will empower our teams to move efficiently through complex legal matters.**Key Responsibilities** **Litigation & Dispute Resolution*** Own and oversee **active and pending litigation**, coordinating with outside counsel, carrier partner counsel, and internal stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes.* Prepare and defend our experts for/in **depositions** and **attend mediations.****Regulatory & Compliance*** Respond to **subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, and document/file requests**, determining appropriate scope of production while safeguarding privileged and confidential information.* Partner with internal teams to **identify, collect, and review documents** for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.**Risk Mitigation & Advisory*** Provide **proactive legal guidance** on professional liability exposures and risk strategies tied to business operations.* Advise leadership on **legal, regulatory, and operational matters** impacting the enterprise.* Manage occasional trademark matters.P**rocess & Contracts*** Review, draft, and provide input on negotiation of **commercial contracts** (client, vendor, and service agreements) across business and functional areas.* Support the **development and implementation of enterprise-wide legal and compliance processes**, including document retention, file content, and records management; Provide training and education on same.**What You Bring** **Education & Licensing*** **Juris Doctor (JD)** from an accredited law school* **Active bar membership** in good standing**Experience*** **~10+ years** in **insurance services, claims handling, TPA, and/or expert services**, with a focus on: + Professional liability + Insurance defense + Litigation management + Collaboration with **outside counsel, carriers, and intermediary legal partners*** **Hands-on experience** with subpoenas, document requests, and complex productions* **Contract lifecycle management**: drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.**Skills & Mindset*** Deep understanding of the **insurance claims process and industry landscape*** **Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills*** **Exceptional written and oral communication** – ability to distill complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders.* **Highly organized**, with the ability to thrive in a **fast-paced, multi-entity, growth-oriented environment.*** **Consultative and collaborative** – a trusted partner to business leaders and operational teams**Why Cor Partners?** Join a **dynamic, mission-driven organization** where your legal expertise will have a direct impact on our growth and client success.
