Asphalt Crew Leader – CDL Required

A growing commercial paving company is seeking an experienced Asphalt Crew Leader with a valid CDL to join their expanding team. The ideal candidate has hands-on asphalt experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to oversee a crew while managing daily paving operations from preparation through completion.

Position Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise an asphalt paving crew on commercial paving and maintenance projects
• Operate and drive company vehicles while transporting equipment, materials, and supplies to job sites ( CDL required )
• Oversee projects from start to finish, including:
• • Site preparation
  • Asphalt paving
  • Patching
  • Seal coating
  • Striping
  • Final quality checks
• Coordinate daily work activities with crew members, equipment operators, and project leadership
• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications
• Read and interpret job plans, layouts, and project requirements
• Train, mentor, and hold crew members accountable to company expectations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Properly operate and maintain equipment, tools, and company vehicles
• Communicate effectively with team members, management, and customers
• Take ownership of job quality, productivity, and overall project success

Required Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
• Previous asphalt paving or commercial paving experience required
• Experience leading or supervising a paving crew preferred
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong understanding of asphalt processes, equipment, and job site safety
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive team environment
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial paving experience
• Seal coating experience
• Asphalt repair and maintenance experience
• Striping experience
• Experience operating paving equipment or heavy machinery
