Medical Laboratory Scientist II - Blood Bank

We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join the Transfusion Medicine/Blood Bank team. The ideal candidate will have strong blood bank testing experience and the ability to perform complex laboratory procedures accurately and independently.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood bank testing, including Type and Screen, Antibody Identification, DAT, Eluate, Phenotyping, and Antigen Typing.
- Perform product modifications, including syringe aliquots and irradiation.
- Handle Massive Transfusion Protocol (MTP) and emergency-release procedures.
- Perform quality control and ensure accurate laboratory results.
- Troubleshoot equipment, specimens, testing issues, and workflow problems.
- Maintain laboratory supplies, reagents, and documentation.
- Support staff training and laboratory quality initiatives.
Requirements
Candidates must meet one of the following qualification pathways:
- Bachelor’s in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science: MT/MLS (ASCP) or MT/MLS (AMT) certification; no prior experience required under this pathway.
- Bachelor’s in Chemical or Biological Science: ASCP categorical certification in the specialty area and at least 2 years of experience.
- Associate’s degree in Clinical Lab Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Chemical Science, or Biological Science: MLT (ASCP) or MLT (AMT) certification and at least 2 years of experience.
