Registered Nurse - PICU

Job Summary:

Seeking experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) registered nurses to provide critical care for pediatric patients, including infants, adolescents, and children. Candidates must demonstrate advanced clinical skills and adaptability within a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Deliver comprehensive bedside care to critically ill pediatric patients, ensuring safety and stability.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and manage central lines, ports, and PICC lines.
  
  
• 
  Perform airway management, including intubation, ventilator care, and assisting with procedures such as lumbar punctures.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patients using telemetry, including pacemaker management and vital signs, while adhering to isolation precautions.
  
  
• 
  Document patient data and care activities accurately within EPIC electronic health records.
  
  
• 
  Float within designated skill sets to various units, maintaining flexibility based on census and acuity levels.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an active NJ or Compact registered nurse license at the time of submission.
  
  
• 
  Possess a minimum of 2 years PICU critical care experience, with at least 1 year of pediatric cardiac care preferred.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in IV therapy, line management, and pediatric resuscitation protocols.
  
  
• 
  Certified in BLS and PALS; ACLS certification beneficial.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and effective communication skills.
