Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Field Equipment Assistant / Field Support Technician to support warehouse operations, equipment inventory, and field equipment deployment and maintenance for traffic management operations throughout Nassau County and the Long Island area.

This is a steady, full-time position based out of Seaford, NY, ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, organized, dependable, comfortable working outdoors, and willing to learn. The position includes a combination of warehouse/shop support, equipment organization, field assistance, and general support for equipment used in the field.

Candidates must be at least 21 years old and have a clean driver’s license. A company vehicle will be available for towing and field support work. Towing experience is a plus, but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Support warehouse/shop operations, including organizing tools, materials, parts, equipment, and field supplies
• Help maintain inventory of equipment, spare parts, supplies, trailers, generators, and other field support items
• Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, deploying, and retrieving field equipment
• Support inspection, maintenance, cleaning, and basic repair of field equipment
• Assist with setup and removal of equipment for special events, weather events, and field operations
• Drive a company vehicle to field locations as needed
• Tow small trailers using a company vehicle when needed; training can be provided
• Help keep the warehouse/shop, vehicles, trailers, and equipment organized and ready for use
• Report equipment issues, missing materials, damaged items, or repair needs to supervisors
• Follow safety procedures and work as part of a team
• Perform other warehouse, shop, and field support duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Clean driver’s license is required
• Must be dependable, punctual, and responsible
• Must be comfortable driving a company vehicle
• Towing experience is a plus, but training can be provided
• Mechanical, electrical, maintenance, construction, landscaping, warehouse, or hands-on field experience is helpful
• Ability to lift, carry, load, unload, and move tools, parts, and equipment
• Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions
• Comfortable using basic hand tools and power tools
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Schedule

This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position, excluding holidays. The regular workday is an 8-hour shift plus a 1-hour meal break, with the shift scheduled between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM based on project needs.

Overtime may be required for special events, weather events, and occasional off-hours emergency support.
