Mechanical Assembler I

The Mechanical Assembler I works in the Mechanical Assembly Department and reports directly to the Mechanical Assembly Supervisor. This role is responsible for building machines that meet or exceed design specifications while maintaining quality and safety standards. Primary Responsibilities Interpret blueprints and follow work instructions to build machinery that meets or exceeds design specifications. Provide support in other areas such as warehouse, machine shop, weld shop, saw, and inspection when needed. Assist Bartell departments in meeting deadlines by providing manpower during times of backlog. Assist manufacturing and mechanical engineering with job time estimates, attend design reviews, and assist with print corrections. Help determine build sequence and provide technical support for design reviews; communicate assembling practices to engineering. Follow OSHA guidelines for heavy lifting, rigging, and proper use and storage of oils and fluids; maintain a safe work area. Maintain a good attitude, punctuality, willingness to work overtime, good housekeeping, clear communication, safety awareness, and teamwork. Assist painters as needed. Job Requirements Fluency in English. Ability to obtain Heavy Lift Certification and Industrial Powered Vehicles License. Advanced ability to read and interpret pneumatic schematics. Advanced ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. Advanced computer skills. 1–2 years of mechanical assembly experience required. Desirable Skills Working knowledge of all Bartell manufacturing processes and technologies. Strong communication and conceptual skills. Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
