Warehouse and Store Clerk

Job TitleWithin store guidelines, prepares items for sale and assists customers with their purchases.Essential FunctionsOperate cash register, total customer purchases, receive payment and give changeKeep accurate financial records reporting discrepancies to store managerReceives and selects merchandise to be displayed for sale from donated itemsPlaces items for saleMay price items within prescribed pricing guidelinesMaintains merchandise displays in neat and orderly appearanceAnswers questions and assists store customers. May keep record of sales and inventoryAssists in maintaining overall appearance, cleanliness and safe conditions in the store areaSort incoming donations into appropriate locations for processingWash and clean incoming donations for sale floorMust be able to add/subtract and make changeOther duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsEducation: High school academic background preferredExperience: Prior sales experience or working with people in service capacity preferredCertifications/Licenses: N/ASkills/Abilities:Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situation to customers, clients and other employeesAbility to use basic office equipment including cash register, copy machine, fax machine and telephoneAbility to add and subtract, multiply and divide numbersAbility to perform operations using units of American moneyAbility to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formAbility to work in a team environmentSupervisory Responsibility: NonePhysical Requirements: Include, speaking, hearing and vision; excellent manual dexterity; lifting, pulling and pushing of materials up to 30 pounds; bending, squatting and walking; standing up to 8 hours per day.
