Bus Driver Substitutes

School Bus Driver

Minimum qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Missouri commercial driver license with S endorsement
• School bus permit
• Air brake certification

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Transport students over specified routes according to an established time schedule
• Transport students to events and field trips
• Comply with traffic regulations
• Drive safely and professionally
• Perform required pre-trip inspections
• Enforce the student discipline code
• Submit required medical certification
• Participate in required training
• Participate in required drug and alcohol testing
• Other duties as may be assigned

Terms:

• Substitute without benefits; $20.31 per hour
• Effective: 2026-2027 school year
• Screening to begin: immediately; open until filled
• Classification: non-exempt
• Recommendation to be given at the July or August 2026 board of education meeting
