Core Faculty Position

William James College announces an opening for a full-time core faculty position in the Doctoral Clinical Psychology Department beginning on August 4, 2026. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and the benefits are highly competitive. The minimum starting salary for this academic position is $90,000 and is consistent with the department's salary equity considerations for incoming faculty.

Essential functions include teaching, advising, and research supervision, with expectations of committee work and scholarly productivity. We are especially interested in applicants whose work lies at the intersection of social psychology and clinical psychology. The successful applicant may teach relevant courses (e.g., Social Bases of Behavior) as well as generalist courses in the clinical PsyD program. Applicants will also supervise dissertations in their specific area of expertise.

Education and experience requirements include a PsyD or PhD in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology, completion of an APA-accredited internship, teaching experience, preferably being licensed or license-eligible in Massachusetts, and maintaining some involvement in clinical practice or consultation. A demonstrated record of scholarly work defined broadly is preferred. Candidates must be available to teach in-person classes and participate in on-campus activities.

Compensation range: $90,000-$100,000 annually. This range represents the college's good faith estimate of the compensation for this role. Placement within the range will depend on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Typically, candidates are hired within the lower to mid-point of the range, with the upper end reserved for individuals who bring significant, directly relevant experience and fully meet or exceed the role's requirements.
