CT Technologist

We are seeking an experienced Travel CT Technologist (CT Tech) for a contract assignment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) examinations in a fast-paced academic medical center, trauma, and emergency care environment. This travel role requires expertise in advanced CT imaging, contrast administration, patient care, and collaboration with radiologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Schedule: 5x8-Hour Shifts or 3x12-Hour Shifts

Pay: $ 65 - 72/Hour

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Travel CT Technologist to join a leading diagnostic imaging department. The CT Technologist will be responsible for performing routine and advanced CT examinations while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and compliance with radiation safety standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-volume environment, demonstrate exceptional technical expertise, and provide outstanding patient-centered care across diverse patient populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced CT examinations according to physician orders and departmental protocols.

• Prepare, position, and monitor patients throughout imaging procedures to ensure safety, comfort, and optimal image quality.

• Administer oral and intravenous contrast agents according to established protocols.

• Operate multi-slice CT scanners and advanced imaging technology efficiently and safely.

• Review patient histories, prior imaging studies, and clinical information to ensure appropriate exam selection.

• Evaluate image quality and perform necessary post-processing and reconstructions.

• Collaborate closely with radiologists regarding imaging protocols and additional imaging requirements.

• Perform trauma, emergency, inpatient, outpatient, and critical care CT procedures.

• Adhere to radiation safety principles and infection prevention guidelines.

• Monitor patients for adverse reactions to contrast media and respond appropriately.

• Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.

• Participate in quality assurance activities, equipment testing, and workflow improvement initiatives.

• Assist with patient transport, scheduling support, and departmental operations as needed.

• Maintain compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards.

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology required.

• ARRT Certification in Radiography [ARRT(R)] required.

• ARRT Certification in Computed Tomography [ARRT(CT)] preferred or required per facility policy.

• Current state Radiologic Technologist license if required by state regulations.

• Current BLS certification required.

• Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience required.

• Experience performing CT studies in acute care hospital settings required.

• Experience with contrast administration and IV insertion required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Level I Trauma Center preferred.

• Experience in a large academic medical center preferred.

• Experience performing advanced CT procedures including CTA, trauma imaging, cardiac CT, and stroke imaging preferred.

• Previous travel CT experience preferred.

• Experience with Siemens and GE CT scanners preferred.

• Experience with EPIC, PACS, and advanced imaging software preferred.
