Job: Full-Time, Outreach Coordinator in Tucson Arizona. HYBRID/IN PERSON

Western National Parks (WNP), a nonprofit partner of the National Park Service (NPS) and the United States Forest Service (USFS), is seeking a Full-Time, Outreach Coordinator who will be supporting with the implementation and coordinator of regional and local community outreach programs in the Tucson and Southern Arizona Area.

Our Philanthropy and Programming Team is looking for a relationship oriented and community minded individual who will serve as the key connector of WNP’s Mission to the community. The role will be assisting the planning, logistics, administration, and delivery of outreach events, volunteer engagement, and community partnerships that aim to connect audiences to national parks, public lands, and America’s natural and cultural heritage. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This role is responsible for the following duties and any related tasks as assigned:

• Assists the Program & Outreach Manager with the coordination and implementation of outreach activities and community events for a variety of audiences in the Tucson and Southern Arizona area.
• Supports the development and distribution of promotional and educational materials, newsletters, brochures, monthly program listings, and program descriptions.
• Coordinates event logistics including scheduling, supplies, volunteer support, and on-site event operations.
• Provides administrative and operational support for outreach and community events throughout WNP partner communities with a geographic emphasis on Tucson and Southern Arizona.
• Assists the Program & Outreach Manager in maintaining partnerships with relevant community organizations, park partners, and other stakeholders.
• Supports volunteer recruitment, scheduling, communication, training coordination, and recordkeeping related to WNP’s outreach efforts in the Tucson and Southern Arizona area.

• Tracks program participation, collects data, and assists with reporting measurable program outcomes and goals.
• Assists with maintaining program calendars, work plans, and expense tracking.
• Coordinates program communications and responds to inquiries from participants, volunteers, members, and community partners.
• Represents WNP professionally at community outreach events, public programs, and partner meetings as needed.
• Assists with identifying opportunities for new outreach and educational programming.
• Coordinates project timelines and supports implementation of program initiatives under the guidance of the Program & Outreach Manager.
• Works creatively and collaboratively with WNP colleagues and partners to maximize program effectiveness and community impact.
• Support WNP’s Philanthropy & Programming team members with events and other activities that may help cultivate or steward donors.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

This role must have the following qualifications and/or experience unless otherwise noted:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 2 years’ experience in implementing or coordinating education programs, community outreach activities, events, or related work.
• Previous experience working with nonprofit organizations or public lands agencies is preferred.
• Experience with variety of computer programs including but not limited to internet, databases, video conferencing software (i.e. Zoom) and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint), experience with RetailPro a Plus but not required.

TRAVEL

Occasional to frequent travel (including multi-day and overnight travel, both in/out of state, and remote locations) may be required. Must be able to travel by various means including car, air, train, etc.
