- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 12 months (high likelihood to extend; top performers may be considered for FTE conversion)
- Pay Rate: $60.00-$70.00 / Hour (USD)
- Shift / Schedule: Office work is typically an 8-hour day, Monday through Friday; overtime as necessary during construction. Hours will depend on project cycle.
- Travel Requirements: Travel to wind facility sites near Earth, TX is required. Resource is expected to be onsite at least 2-3 days per week during construction and 4-5 days per week if on per diem. Mileage/travel will be reimbursed via expense if a company vehicle is not available. Per diem may be available to non-local candidates who relocate and are willing to spend 40 hours on-site. Mobilization/de-mobilization will not be provided to non-local candidates.

- Oversee and contribute to large-scale wind projects, providing civil engineering expertise across multiple projects
- Evaluate project drawings, studies, and analyses as part of submittal activities
- Handle requests for information (RFIs) across multiple projects, collaborating with other engineers and project stakeholders to ensure all requirements are clearly outlined
- Review technical documentation to confirm alignment with project specifications and requirements
- Communicate variances to the company's master specifications internally for approvals by the engineer
- During construction activities, assist team members by addressing civil engineering-related questions about the project, including clarifying details about the design or construction process and troubleshooting issues that arise on-site
- Resolve RFIs and non-conformance requests (NCRs)
- Understand and interpret design drawings; manage compliance of construction to design drawings
- Coordinate on land-use matters with Siting and Land Rights teams, especially for projects involving land development such as wind installations
- Collaborate with Environmental Teams to ensure regulatory compliance, given the nature of moving earth and other environmental impacts
- Assist with obtaining local and state permits for large construction projects; coordinate with County and State Agencies and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)
- Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders including facility operations, siting and land rights, environmental teams, supply chain, and other project engineers
- Work with EPC contractors and a project-specific team consisting of a project manager, engineers, construction field team, construction managers, and construction/civil inspectors
- Work with Project Controls cost/scheduling staff
- Track and document activities across multiple interfacing teams; maintain strong organizational oversight of deliverables
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking skills to resolve questions, troubleshoot design conflicts, etc.
- Strong organizational skills - interfacing with several different teams, tracking and documenting
- Knowledge of and familiarity with NCRs (Non-Conformance Requests) and RFIs (Requests for Information)
- Ability to understand and manage the scope of a contract
- Strong team player with experience preferably in a large matrixed organization, demonstrating the ability to work cross-functionally
- Detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting skills to resolve design issues as the project progresses
- Familiarity with ProjectWise , Microsoft Office , Bluebeam , and Procore for reviewing EPC contractors' drawings (technical review communication tool)
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and work onsite with the project team
- Stable career progression and demonstrated experience completing projects; ability to speak to project experience and provide examples from within the United States
- Professional Engineering (PE) license, or Engineering in Training (EIT)/certification to become a professional engineer - strongly preferred
- Familiarity with SAP - a plus
- Former experience working with utilities or design firms on renewable technologies
- Experience in a large matrixed organization demonstrating cross-functional collaboration
- Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited school in civil engineering, or strong/commensurate experience
- 9 years of civil engineering experience, with 5-7 years specifically in the renewable generation project space (construction or engineering design)
- 5-7 years of civil engineering experience with 2-3 years specifically in the renewable generation project space (construction or engineering design) - noted as the ideal candidate background
- 2-3 years of renewable generation project experience (minimum baseline)
- Hybrid role with flexibility to work remotely and in the field at the facilities where construction is taking place
- Resource will be working on wind facilities near Earth, TX
- Expected to be onsite at least 2-3 days per week during construction and 4-5 days per week if on per diem
- Preferred that this resource be close to the project area
- Manager is open to non-local candidates if they are open to relocating for the life of the assignment at their own expense
- Overtime available to support construction but not mandated; hours will depend on project cycle
