Job Summary:

Deliver top-quality healthcare by expertly using ionizing radiation to produce diagnostic images for licensed practitioners. This role extends to performing Computed Tomography (CT) and related procedures to capture detailed cross-sectional anatomical images.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform CT procedures, ensuring patient clinical history aligns with the exam and is properly documented.
• Prepare patients by providing clear instructions to achieve optimal results, ease cooperation, and reduce anxiety.
• Select and follow appropriate exam protocols as directed by Radiologists and established CT policies.
• Position and immobilize patients comfortably to best display the area of interest while applying radiation safety principles to minimize exposure.
• Assist licensed practitioners with interventional CT procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques.
• Address patients' physical and psychological needs throughout procedures.
• Perform venipunctures and manage equipment for contrast administration and patient monitoring.
• Evaluate image quality, adjust display parameters, and initiate basic life support if necessary.
• Complete all necessary computer documentation including patient histories and exam charges.
• Educate patients about tests and procedures to foster understanding and comfort.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, report equipment issues, and contribute to supply management.
• Provide practical instruction to students and healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives, including quality control duties.
• Support other departmental areas as needed.
• Stay knowledgeable about sterile supplies, 3D workstation functions, and anatomical recognition via imaging systems.
• Manage imaging media release following proper authorization.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology.
• Computer proficiency.
• Experienced radiographer with a solid understanding of CT procedures and cross-sectional anatomy.

Licensure and Certifications:

• State certification as a radiologic technologist.
• Current R.T.(R) ARRT credential in good standing.
• Obtain or maintain R.T.(R)(CT) credential within two years of employment.
