Lane County Public Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Family & Child Health (FCH) team, delivering the nationally recognized Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) program. In this role, you’ll work one-on-one with first-time parents, beginning in early pregnancy through a child’s second birthday—supporting healthier pregnancies, stronger parent-child relationships, and long-term family stability. As an NFP nurse, you’ll partner with families to reduce toxic stress, build resilience, and connect to resources that support long-term success. You can learn more about the NFP program at: This is a unique nursing role that blends clinical expertise with relationship-based care. You’ll: Provide nursing case management and conduct perinatal, child health, and mental health assessments Deliver evidence-based health education and parenting support Build trusted relationships with families to support their individual goals Work independently in the field while managing your own caseload You’ll serve families throughout Lane County in both rural and urban communities, with a county vehicle available for work-related travel. While much of your time will be spent in homes and community settings, you’ll also have the flexibility to complete documentation and case management remotely. After orientation, this position offers flexible scheduling options, including a Monday–Friday or four-day workweek. What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate brings a combination of clinical skill, compassion, and a commitment to equity: Passion for supporting families from pregnancy through early childhood Understanding of perinatal mental health and early childhood development Background in labor & delivery, pediatrics, home health, or mental health Ability to work autonomously while building strong, trusting relationships Comfort working in family homes across diverse communities Understanding of social determinants of health and applying an equity lens in care About the Division Public Health ensures protections critical to the health of all people in Lane County through surveillance, regulation, and response to infectious disease and injury risks. In collaboration with community organizations and partner agencies, Public Health promotes optimal health through policies, interventions, and population-health programs based on scientific evidence and emerging best practices, with a particular focus on ensuring all people in Lane County have opportunity and access to environments and systems that support their health. Schedule: 40hrs/week; either Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. *This is an AFSCME Nurses represented position* Community Health Nurse 2: Training & Experience: Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited college or university. Or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
