Director of Land Survey and Geospatial Services

Oxford Solutions is working with an engineering and infrastructure consulting firm to identify a Director of Land Survey and Geospatial Services for a direct hire opportunity. This is a senior leadership role for a strategic professional ready to lead and expand a multidisciplinary land surveying and geospatial data practice.
Reporting to executive leadership, this individual will be responsible for the strategic direction, operational oversight, and financial performance of the surveying and geospatial services group. The Director will play a key role in driving business growth, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality solutions across infrastructure and development markets. Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and overall management of the land survey and geospatial services practice, including financial performance and growth initiatives
- Develop and execute business development strategies in partnership with senior leadership and market teams
- Expand relationships with existing clients while securing new opportunities aligned with annual business plans
- Oversee project delivery through accountable project managers, ensuring budgets, schedules, quality standards, and client satisfaction are achieved
- Guide proposal development efforts and ensure alignment with company standards and value propositions
- Identify emerging market opportunities and represent the firm through industry engagement and professional involvement
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions across regions and service lines
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing technical and project management team
- Support workforce planning, staffing alignment, and professional development initiatives
- Travel approximately 25% as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related discipline (Master's degree preferred)
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or equivalent required
- 15+ years of progressive experience in land surveying or geospatial services within a technical professional services environment
- Prior senior leadership experience with responsibility for strategy, growth, and financial performance
- Broad expertise in boundary and topographic surveys, construction layout, GIS, LiDAR, UAV/drone data capture, and emerging geospatial technologies
- Demonstrated success leading client relationships, managing full project lifecycles, and executing strategic growth plans
- Strong financial acumen and ability to translate strategy into operational execution
- Proven ability to build collaborative, high-performing teams and develop long-term client partnerships
