Position Summary
The Mental Health Clinician provides comprehensive behavioral health services to adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders through assessment, psychotherapy, rehabilitation, case management, crisis intervention, and multidisciplinary care coordination using recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices.
Essential Functions
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy.
- Deliver rehabilitation, collateral, and targeted case management services.
- Provide crisis intervention, field-based outreach, and community-based services.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, peers, housing specialists, and community partners.
- Maintain timely and accurate Medi-Cal compliant clinical documentation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
- Respond to after-hours on-call responsibilities as assigned.
- Complete court reports and attend hearings when required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Counseling, or related behavioral health discipline.
- LCSW/ASW, LMFT/AMFT, LPCC/APCC, Licensed Psychologist, or other qualifying California credentials.
- Licensed clinicians are compensated at the higher end of the pay scale.
- Three (3) years of behavioral health experience preferred.
- Valid California Driver License and automobile insurance.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of serious mental illness, recovery-oriented care, and trauma-informed treatment.
- Strong crisis intervention, assessment, and documentation skills.
- Experience using Electronic Health Records.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Mental illness impacts all facets of life. Without treatment, individuals may cope by engaging in unsafe and unhealthy behaviors such as substance abuse and crime. We have expertise in helping clients who suffer from drug or alcohol abuse, as well as in assisting those newly released from jail or prison to successfully re-enter society.
