THE POSITION

As the Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor for the Department of Transportation, District 4, you will lead inspection efforts that keep projects safe and on track. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role oversees construction inspection activities to support safe, accurate, and compliant project work. It ensures that inspection tasks, documentation, and field decisions align with department policies and project needs. As a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

• Work Leadership: Assign tasks to inspection personnel and review their work for accuracy and compliance
• Inspection Oversight: Verify traffic control devices and construction activities meet required standards
• Documentation Review: Examine project records and materials data to ensure proper reporting
• Training Support: Provide on-site instruction about construction practices and materials testing
• Contract Coordination: Interpret contract requirements and communicate project decisions to staff and contractors
• Quality Assurance: Check work orders for compliance and support final project audits

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• This position will cover projects in Pike and Wayne Counties.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Condition of Employment:

• This position requires possession of a valid non- commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
