Household Data Specialist for Video Capture [Remote]

In this role, you will play a crucial part in training the next generation of personal robotics by capturing high-quality video demonstrations of everyday household tasks. Utilizing a UMI gripper, a wearable device that mimics a robot''s hand, you will perform tasks naturally while creating valuable training data that helps robots learn to operate in real homes. Key Responsibilities

• Capture and submit high-quality, specification-compliant video demonstrations of everyday household tasks using a UMI gripper wearable device.
• Follow detailed, task-specific instructions to ensure all recordings meet rigorous project standards.
• Review feedback from assigned reviewers and iteratively refine your approach to improve data quality.
• Operate and set up recording equipment and the UMI gripper to accurately mimic real-world hand movements while performing tasks.
• Communicate proactively and clearly with the customer’s project team, both in writing and verbally.
• Maintain a consistent weekly workflow to meet the minimum approved data requirements.

• Keen attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow complex specifications precisely.
• Manual dexterity and experience with physical task precision in varied household environments.
• Comfort with operating, wearing, and setting up specialized devices and recording equipment.
• Capacity to incorporate feedback and make iterative improvements to processes and outputs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including openness to prompt feedback exchanges.
• Reliable access to a fully equipped U.S. household (kitchen, living spaces, and common items).
• Ability to upload large video files via stable, high-speed internet from your home environment.
• Comfortable with prolonged use of a VR headset as part of the regular work environment.

• Genuine curiosity about personal robotics, AI, and emerging technology in home environments.
• Prior experience participating in data collection, usability studies, or similar hands-on projects.
• Patience for repetitive, precision-oriented work and willingness to adapt as project needs evolve.

This is a contract position, and the role is remote, based in the U.S.

This is a Pay-Per-Task (PPT) project. You will be compensated per hour of approved data that meets project specifications:

• $30 per approved hour during the pilot phase.
• $60 per approved hour after calibration, once quality benchmarks are consistently met.

As a planning benchmark, expect roughly 2 hours of review work per 1 hour of approved data early on, resulting in an effective rate of $30/hr at the pilot stage. This ratio typically improves with familiarity, and the post-calibration rate compounds the upside.
