Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg FloatWe are seeking a dynamic and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Med/Surg Float Pool. This role will involve floating between various surgical and medical units as needed, providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.Shift DetailsShift: DaysShift Length: 12 hoursGuaranteed Hours: 48 hours per weekWeekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekendHoliday Requirement: NoUnit InformationUnit Type: Med/Surg (Medical Surgical)Number of Beds: 128Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:6Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing surgical and medical treatment.Participate in the administration and monitoring of prescribed treatment plans.Ensure effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.Float to Med/Onc, two surgical units, and two medical units as needed.Oversee the total care of assigned patients, as there are no patient care assistants on the unit.Perform occasional strip reading as required, with remote tele monitoring available.QualificationsExperience: Minimum of 2 years in a large hospital setting with current medical/surgical nursing experience.Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) is required.Skills: Basic medical/surgical relevant experience is essential, with no requirement for RNs to titrate drips.Additional Notes: Nurse aids and patient care technicians are present on the unit, with varying ratios and duties.Additional InformationTransitioning to EPIC in November 2026.Three shifts of unit-specific orientation will be provided.Self-scheduling is not an option; staff will be assigned based on needs.Interested candidates are encouraged to apply directly to interview with hiring management.
