GMP Manufacturing Technician

Position Overview The Marcus Center for Cellular Cures (MC3) has an exciting growth opportunity for a motivated individual to fill an on‑site GMP Manufacturing Technician in the Carolina Cord Blood Bank Lab. Work Schedule Tues‑Fri: 10:30 am – 7:00 pm; Sat: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Responsibilities Perform duties as dictated by SOPs for manufacturing licensed DUCORD product and other hematopoietic cellular products, including bone marrow and peripheral blood stem cells for clinical use under cGMP guidelines. Operate equipment (cell separators, counters, centrifuges, incubators, pipettes, LN2 freezers), maintain documentation, participate in proficiency testing, and maintain donor confidentiality. Collaborate with Lab Manager, other technicians, and Quality Systems Unit to ensure regulatory compliance, maintain orderly lab spaces, participate in inspections, manage inventory, clean equipment, and uphold safety and infection control procedures. Work with Standard Operating Procedures, complete required training, competency and proficiency assessments, and continuing education hours. Perform other related duties as required. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or related field. Experience No experience required beyond education/training; up to two years of laboratory experience, preferably in a GMP/regulated environment, is preferred. A related master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience. Preferred Skills Good communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Team oriented, able to work in a highly collaborative environment to complete complex tasks. Ability to manage multiple rapidly changing priorities and learn new skills quickly. Position Description Use a biological safety cabinet and aseptic technique; operate manual and automatic instrumentation; accurately complete batch record documentation and equipment log entries; participate in proficiency testing; maintain confidentiality; ensure lab compliance; maintain equipment; use laboratory safety and infection control procedures; demonstrate dexterity and attention to detail; maintain strong relationships with department manager and CCBB team; attend meetings; read and understand SOPs; complete training and assessments; complete continuing education; perform incidental duties as described. Anticipated Pay Range USD $22.61 to $40.70 per year.
