This Role

AMS is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer with 10+ years of experience to serve as a technical leader in testing, evaluating, and troubleshooting advanced I&C systems. This role handles complex diagnostic challenges, supports system-level evaluations, mentors junior engineers, and represents AMS in customerfacing technical engagements.

Senior engineers at AMS play a pivotal role in improving equipment, methodologies, test procedures, and overall engineering quality across the organization.

Responsibilities

* Lead complex testing and troubleshooting of nuclear I&C and electrical systems
* Oversee data acquisition, signal measurement, advanced diagnostics, and engineering evaluations
* Serve as a primary technical expert during onsite plant trips and customer interactions
* Diagnose unexpected test results, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions
* Support hardware development, prototype evaluation, equipment upgrades, and documentation updates
* Drive quality assurance compliance and structured engineering processes
* Produce highquality reports, evaluations, and customerfacing technical documentation
* Mentor junior engineers and guide technical development
* Provide expertise during customer discussions, project planning, and engineering reviews
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and maintain strong customer rapport

Qualifications

Required

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
* 10+ years of professional engineering experience
* Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
* Deep handson experience with instrumentation, controls, electrical systems, signal processing, hardware, or DAQ systems
* Expertise using oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, multimeters, signal generators, and DAQ tools
* Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
* Ability to work independently while supporting complex engineering tasks
* Willingness to travel (~25%)
* U.S. citizenship required

Preferred

* Experience in nuclear, defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or other regulated industries
* Hardware troubleshooting, prototype development, or circuitlevel testing experience
* Familiarity with MILSTD461, IEC 61000, or EMC/EMI troubleshooting
* Experience mentoring or leading engineers
* Strong background writing advanced engineering evaluations or test procedures
