Job Purpose The position provides excellent service to customers in accordance with Peoples Bank policies. The role includes opening deposit accounts, handling CSR transactions, selling/cross‑selling bank products and services, generating and executing consumer loans, and resolving customer service issues. This position engages in sales and service activities in branch locations and contributes directly to the success of the banking center by recognizing and uncovering opportunities for sales referrals on products and services. It also refers customers to the appropriate source or channel to address their needs. Job Duties Deliver superior customer service with a friendly demeanor, can‑do attitude, and willingness to help at all times. Develop and retain the customer base, greet customers by name, have knowledge of account ownership, and be responsive and timely with correspondence and problem resolution. Maintain a position of trust and responsibility by keeping all customer business confidential. Maintain balancing and error records that align with policy and have the ability to find and correct outages and enlist help as needed for more difficult errors. Process complex multi‑step transactions. Research and offer solutions to resolve customer issues, using organizational knowledge to identify helpful resources and provide follow‑up on resolution. Receive checks and cash for deposit to savings and checking accounts, verify deposit amounts, and examine checks for endorsement and negotiability. Acquire, use, and maintain consumer lending product knowledge and abilities to generate and execute consumer loans, lines, and deposit products. Be self‑motivated and assertive, performing well in a sales environment and interacting professionally with customers and team members. Turn service encounters into dialogue‑based meetings to uncover other needs. Consistently meet or exceed sales referral goals set by management and maintain a well‑developed working knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered. Initiate conversations to uncover customer needs and effectively refer customers to business partners for selling and cross‑selling bank products and services. Consistently complete required training for all bank and branch policies and procedures. Interpret documents such as safety rules, account documents, operating and maintenance instructions, consumer loan documents, and procedure manuals; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Define and offer solutions to resolve problems, using organizational knowledge to identify helpful resources. Follow operational standards regarding security, risk management, and compliance. Make sales calls via phone or Zoom to clients and/or prospects on a weekly basis to meet calling goals of the branch while recording those calls in Salesforce. Interpret data to evaluate acceptable lending ratios and product and service opportunities. Meet scheduled working hours as designated by the manager to ensure effective branch functionality for client needs. Meet Retail Branch Standards, which includes dress code. Perform special projects as assigned. Education, Experience and Job Skills High School Diploma or GED; Minimum 1‑year work‑related experience in customer service. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with a high degree of accuracy and close attention to detail. Proficient in basic computer operations and standard applications, with the ability to quickly learn and navigate job‑specific software to perform daily tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Proficient knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Positive and professional attitude. Proven Team Player. Daily reliable transportation. Role requires consistent standing; bending or squatting may also be required to access night drops, coin machines, vaults, ATM, etc., based upon the branch set up. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. consistently. Must be able to travel to attend internal education and meetings, which in some circumstances could include overnight stay; travel also required to fill in at other branches as needed. Must be able to pass background and credit standards to hold NMLS credentials. Trustworthy and confidential behavior is essential in this role. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1‑year work‑related experience in customer service. Daily reliable transportation. Role requires consistent standing; bending or squatting may also be required to access night drops, coin machines, vaults, ATM, etc., based upon the branch set up. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. consistently. Must be able to travel to attend internal education and meetings, which in some circumstances could include overnight stay; travel also required to fill in at other branches as needed.
